42 Days 'til Christmas

Do you see that?? Over there on my right sidebar?? It says 42 DAYS 'TIL CHRISTMAS!!!

Well, I will tell you. We are not, I repeat NOT, going to panic.

Christmas is not about commercialism

and shopping until dropping.

So, okay.

I have spent an inordinate amount of time NOT making Christmas items,

but making items for charity instead.

My little fingers are going to be worked to exhaustion

knitting hats, hats, hats, and scarves

and binding binding binding blank journal notebooks.

It will all be okay in the end.

How are your Christmas preparations going?

Like you, I've been making things for charity - hats and quilts - but I have managed to get a quilt and knitted snowmonster done and shipped off to our son and his family in Germany and I, just tonight, finished another snowmonster for our grandson in Texas. Christmas preparations are coming along, slowly, but they are coming. I'm off of work the whole week of Thanksgiving so plan to knit and sew until I just can't take it anymore!

You are way more industrious than I. I have only thought about Christmas and prepared nothing!

I've been working on the scarves and hats for my grandchildren but with a few for charity and some special requests. I have a good start on my making of gifts. However, I'm usually finished with my gift buying by now... Things are a little different this year. Making gifts is a necessity and I have some jewelry to make next. I'll keep plugging away.

I have bought for my boys. I've made them get rid of things to Deseret Industries though so that our small "donation (can) help many nations." I do get caught up in Christmas, I am grateful for those little giving trees and the food banks that help families in need. I also love the fact that at Thanksgiving we can help others with meals.
